Statement
Klett World Languages is committed to providing accessible materials to the widest possible audience both in print and digital.
We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our company’s website, learning platform, and social media channels. And in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines, such as the standards established in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and W3C (WCAG 2.1 ) guidelines. Our efforts are ongoing as we work to implement the relevant improvements to meet WCAG 2.1 A/AA guidelines over time.
Klett World Languages has created a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) for its online platform. The VPAT is available to qualified instructors and administrators via email at accessibility@klettwl.com.
Our digital platform offers among other things:
- Captions and audio description for pre-recorded media
- Audio control is readily available
- Consistent navigation and identification
- Text alternative for non-text content that serves the equivalent purpose
- Contrast ratio of at least 5:1
- Zoom without loss of content or function
- Headings and labels describe the topic or purpose
- Low or no background audio
As part of our commitment to accessibility, we have created a team which constantly monitors the accessibility of our print and digital materials, and offers in-house training to ensure our staff is up-to-date with the latest accessibiliaty developments.
Our accessibility team provides free of charge a variety of formats (accessible PDFs, DOCX Files or Rich Text Format, and media transcripts) to school districts or colleges that need to provide accessibility materials to their students. For more details on this process, please email accessibility@klettwl.com.
Klett World Languages portfolio is also available at NIMAC, a federally-funded, searchable online file repository of print textbook content in the XML-based NIMAS (National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standard) format. Authorized users can download these files to create specialized formats like braille, large-print, digital, or audio books.
We would love to hear your questions, feedback, or requests regarding our accessibility commitment and available offering. Please email us at accessibility@klettwl.com. Thank you in advance for your ideas and feedback.
